At It's My Child, we are dedicated to fostering connections within families, and we recently embarked on a meaningful project aimed at achieving that through storytelling. This initiative brought parents and children together to create unique stories, strengthening their bonds and celebrating their creativity.
The project's primary goal was to encourage families to collaborate on writing stories in their first language. This approach allowed participants to express themselves naturally and authentically. Once the stories were crafted, they were translated into English and Dutch to ensure a wider audience could enjoy and be inspired by them. The resulting stories were wonderfully diverse, encompassing everything from imaginative fantasies to deeply personal narratives.
The highlight of this project was a special event held on June 27th, where children and parents had the opportunity to present their stories to an audience. The event was filled with joy and pride as each family shared their experiences and the journey, they undertook in creating their stories. It was a heartwarming occasion, showing the power of storytelling to bring people together.
